I learned to be very selective when publishing my work on the web and on the different social media platforms…
I am not a stock photographer, I’m a real and a picky one! Very picky, I admit!
When I started my photography journey and the posting process, I was in a rush and published whatever result I’ve got from the shooting of the previous night… Since I got the famous lighting shot back in 2012… [click here to open the post published on Facebook]
Since then my photography journey changed and I found my own photo-personality and developed my style, I became a selective photographer: Tons of photos I took, didn’t meet my taste nor the level I’ve set to myself… Always work on that… (I admit that we followed a lot of photographers and we tried to copy their style and ideas… Until we find our way and style… And if we remain at the stage of copying, we don’t become a photographer; we will remain “copiers”.
Build yourself a way, a style, a language! I Can spend a whole night waiting to take the shot I want… And end up with empty hands; this does not bother me at all. I can come back the night after hoping for better results…
Why being selective?
To maintain the same level of professionalism or even enhance it, not all results have the same impact to our eyes, only few of them “survive”.
Setting standards for myself will lead to a successful output… This kind of attitude will let you mature when it comes to taking photographs and it makes you realize when to set your camera to capture a scene, and when to remain quiet, waiting for changes (changes in light, in weather elements…).
Always remember that we all practice landscape photography to relax, and to enjoy nature!
